Elicit Abandz (born Austin Tumbleson, July 6, 2006) is an American rapper, singer, and the CEO of Elicit Entertainment, based in Portsmouth, Ohio. Known for his energetic style and innovative approach to hip-hop, Abandz has made a significant impact on the music scene with his unique sound and entrepreneurial spirit. 

Elicit Abandz was born and raised in Portsmouth, Ohio, a city located in the 740 area code, A student of Portsmouth West Schools (Washington Nile Local School District) His interest in music began in fourth grade, where he would recite raps from popular shows, movies, and songs. By the sixth grade, he was writing his own lyrics and attempting to record with limited equipment—a simple old laptop and a malfunctioning built-in microphone. Although the quality of his early recordings was poor, this experience laid the foundation for his future in music.

During his eighth grade, Abandz took a brief hiatus from music until he met his friend Quacadirous. Together, they reignited their passion for music, leading Abandz to purchase his first PC and Yeti microphone. They initially formed a group called UGP, focusing on gaming content. However, during his sophomore year of high school, Abandz decided to rebrand the group to "Elicit" to encompass a broader range of content beyond gaming. This was also when he officially adopted the name "Abandz," symbolizing his pursuit of success ("bandz" being slang for money).

Abandz released several experimental tracks between eighth and tenth grade, His first official single under the name Abandz, "Chase The Money," was released on December 2, 2022, just before his sophomore year Christmas break. The track garnered over 1,000 plays on YouTube, marking his first significant milestone.

Building on this initial success, Abandz released his next single, "COME HERE," on May 20, 2023. The song achieved over 2,000 views on YouTube, doubling the success of his previous release. Around this time, Abandz also launched a clothing brand featuring the slogan "The Voice of the 740," which gained traction within his broad community.

On his 17th birthday, July 6, 2023, Abandz released "Back Again," a single that showcased a more melodic style. The track became an overnight success, achieving over 8,000 views on YouTube within its first week. Shortly after, Abandz received a plaque for his debut single "Chase The Money," which surpassed 10,000 views across all platforms.

In August 2023, he released "DRE Flow," a tribute to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, featuring a remastered "Still D.R.E." type beat. The song was a breakthrough hit, accumulating over 16,000 views on YouTube within five days. This release marked Abandz's first five-digit view count and further solidified his presence in the music industry.

Closer to 2024, Abandz expanded his social and professional network significantly. He formed friendships with locals and brothers such as TJ, Cody, BKnight, Deontae, Chris, Andy, and Doughbaby, who played key roles in his rising music career. On January 1, 2024, Abandz collaborated with fellow Portsmouth Ohio artist Marsosa to release "Wanted," a track that quickly went viral, reaching over 44,000 views within 48 hours. This moment marked a turning point in Abandz's career, as he began to gain widespread recognition within his hometown. Along with many people worldwide, including influencers, tuning in. During his senior year of high school, Abandz took a brief step back from music to focus on his studies. However, he was secretly working on a new project—a four-track EP titled "The Voice Of The 740," announced in April 2024. The EP, released on the same day as his high school graduation from Portsmouth West High School, was a tribute to his clothing brand and his hometown.

The EP featured collaborations with Mdot, TJ, and Marsosa, and achieved remarkable success. Within 24 hours of its release, the tracks "VIP" featuring Mdot and "Turnt Up" featuring Marsosa received 48,000 and 52,000 views, respectively. The other tracks, "Big Splash!" featuring TJ and "First Day Out Remix," also performed well, contributing to a total of 200,000 combined views on YouTube.

Abandz's graduation day at Portsmouth West was marked not only by his academic achievement but also by a significant musical milestone, as he celebrated the success of his EP with his friends and began planning his next steps in his music career.

Abandz has cited a range of influences in his music, including iconic rappers such as Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, whose style he paid homage to in "DRE Flow." Other rappers he has mentioned prior, Such as Juice WRLD, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Polo G, Eminem, King Von, Sada Baby, & Rob49. He draws inspiration from both old-school and contemporary hip-hop, blending various elements to create a unique sound that resonates with his audience.

Following a quieter period after his spring 2024 run, Elicit Abandz spent much of 2025 and 2026 working privately on new music and developing the next stage of his career. Rather than maintaining a frequent release schedule, Abandz shifted much of his attention behind the scenes, using the extended break to refine his sound, creative direction, and plans for a larger return.

By fall 2025, Abandz had begun acknowledging growing anticipation for new music, indicating that new material and the official reveal of a larger project were planned before the end of 2026. Throughout 2026, those hints gradually became more frequent, with Abandz suggesting through social media that the extended absence was part of a much larger creative process rather than a departure from music.

By early August 2026, his social media activity began increasingly signaling that the hiatus was nearing its end. Posts and profile messaging featuring phrases such as “MUSIC LOADING...” teased an approaching return, with Abandz pointing toward the final months of 2026 as the beginning of a new chapter in his career.

That return officially began on September 18, 2026, with the release of “KILLSWITCH,” Abandz’s first major release in more than two years and the lead single from his forthcoming debut studio album, currently being teased for a November release. The song brought his extended hiatus to an end and marked the first chapter of a significantly more active era for the Portsmouth, Ohio rapper.
